About Us
Established in 1975 by Scott Brown, The Base Camp emerged as a pioneering backpacking store in Montana, proudly situated just off Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena, then expanding to Billings in 1990. Originally a haven for backpackers, our store has organically grown alongside our dedicated customer base, expanding our offerings to encompass outdoor gear, apparel for men and women, footwear, camping equipment, Montana gifts and much more.
